Heidelberg Indian Students Association (HISA) is a non-profit and a migrant organization established in 2003 by the Indian students in Heidelberg, Germany. The organization is dedicated towards the welfare of the Indian students and community in and around Heidelberg. One of the important aims of the organization is to bridge the gap between Indian and the local community. The organization has proudly worked in this direction from last 15 years.
HISA is now officially recognized by the University of Heidelberg as an international student organization. Presently the organization has more than 500 Members from the University of Heidelberg, European Molecular Biology laboratory (EMBL), Max Planck Institutes (MPI), SRH Hochschule Heidelberg and also from companies like SAP, BASF, etc. The organization has undertaken various activities and roles from organizing cultural, sports, and Business Entrepreneurship events to assisting students with all their needs.
HISA is driven by enthusiastic committee members who work voluntarily to achieve the objectives of the organization. The posts in the HISA committee include Manager, President, Vice-President, Treasurer, and Cultural secretary, Advisors and International Volunteers. The Organization also holds its motivation by involving international volunteers in their work towards Indian Diaspora. HISA is committed to its motive and has always worked in collaboration with Indian Embassy, Berlin and its initatives.
